WHO WE ARE
Plakortis is a social enterprise that is more in-love with seeing positive environmental change than other business objectives. We aim to change stereotypes and perceptions about the Caribbean: the way we conduct business, the involvement of the business community, and the state of our commercial centres and neighbouring communities. Working with the private sector and other social groups our goal is to create sound environmental practices and good decision making at all levels. Wherever we work we anticipate the best outcomes and make it happen – we get results because we know how, and we have commitment – from you, our partners.
Plakortis’s ground breaking concept is based on two fundamental factors: the vulnerability of the Caribbean Islands and the rapidly changing environment that threatens the unique social and environmental fabric of the region. Small steps are being made, and the once excluded private sector are making strides in the fight against environmental degradation and climate change. Plakortis is supporting these efforts, changing norms and gaining results by engendering a corporate understanding of the relationship between economic sustainability and and the management of natural resources.
